Wow! It's definitely been a while since we last posted anything. Life has been flying by. We wrapped our ski season with 31 days on the snow. Pretty incredible! Then it was time to "hit the books" for both of us. Aaron took his Professional Engineering exam in April and I took the last part of my CPA exam in May. So now we wait for the results...that's the hard part!
We've had some friends come and visit us and we always love to see familiar faces. Colorado in the summer is a great place to visit and we've actually gotten to do a lot of fun stuff with our guests. Garrett Thompson came out for Aaron's 29th birthday and we took him rafting, mountain biking, camping, and even climbing. It was definitely an action-packed weekend.
Then Derek Gunn stopped through on his way to Jackson Hole, WY and spent a couple nights with us.
Since Aaron just celebrated his 29th birthday in May and I will be celebrating mine 28th in July, our presents to one another were some great single-speed bicycles for riding to work and around town. I have to say that it is probably the greatest bike I've ever owned. I feel like a 10-year old again!! Mine is a Schwinn commuter bike with a rack on the back and we are trying to find a basket for the front. It is such a wonderful bike. Aaron's is a solid black single-speed which I am sure will be "tricked-out" with some cool wheels and a new chain pretty soon!! We have spent the beginning of the summer hiding from the unstoppable rain. (It has, however, allowed me to finish the first two books in the Twilight series. I understand now why the books are so addictive!)
The beginning of my addiction to the Twilight series.
This week seems to have been the end of the rain and we've enjoyed riding our bikes everywhere now. We ride them to work, the grocery store, church, downtown to dinner....I'm not kidding when I say everywhere! We're beginning to break out all our summer toys: went rafting last Saturday, mountain biking on Sunday, and planning on going kayaking on Thursday!
This weekend is FibArk down in Salida, CO. It is a kayaking festival that we go to every year and we are really looking forward to this year because we have met a lot of fellow "river-lovers" who are heading down to the festival with us. We all camp out and it's a basically a huge party at all times. LOVE IT! Hopefully, it won't be so long until I fill ya in again!
Happy playing..........
